Originally a hill-top farm, La Balie is a beautiful collection of 17th century caramel coloured farm buildings complete with thick stone walls, wooden beams and stunning views over the surrounding rolling countryside. Renovated in 2014 by the previous owner, La Balie was transformed into a calming haven: the three stone cottages, which sleep a total of sixteen guests, are smart, light-filled spaces; there’s an expanse of lawned garden, an inviting salt-water pool swaddled by swathes of lavender and a beautiful barn/studio that can also be hired by guests to add another dimension to your self catering holiday in the Lot et Garonne.

The new owner Paul is focusing hard on maintaining the high standards and magical atmosphere created, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it springs to mind. Rather to build on what has been lovingly built and and continue to provide a magical place to explore this lovely corner of France.

Each of the three cottages has a large open-plan dining/living area with a super functional and well-equipped kitchen. Rooms are simply decorated with white or exposed stone walls, neutral coloured sofas and armchairs and bedrooms are calming with rolling country views. All our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms which are luxurious and immaculate.

La Balie is ideal for families or groups of friends for whom it offers a stunning location to relax, share meals and explore the beautiful countryside of the Lot-et-Garonne. Whether you’re a group of friends or an individual family La Balie offers space and privacy with pretty courtyards for each cottage and wonderful alfresco dining for eighteen on the covered terrace.
